New Publication on Herbicide Treatment of Knotweed on Haida Gwaii

The description and initial results of a knotweed herbicide treatment demonstration project on Haida Gwaii were published July 2013 by Denise McLean, Invasive Plant Specialist with the Ministry of Forests, Lands and Natural Resource Operations. Due to the limited success using manual methods (e.g. salt water, cutting and smothering) in controlling knotweed, test plots using herbicide were tried. Stay tuned for further details as the trial progresses.
